Advice, Guidance and Training
Sarah is a qualified teacher who has taught extensively across all key stages over her 20-year career. She is also qualified to lead, instruct and coach a range of Outdoor activities and is one of only 25 nationally Accredited Members of the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel.
Sarah has substantial experience of day, residential and curriculum-based education. Sarah held the position of Deputy Head of Outdoor Education and the Outdoor Adviser role for Coventry Local Authority for 8 years before branching out to set up Sarah Atkins & Co.

Subscribing to the Education Visit advice and Guidance service will allow your establishment access to:

Specific expert advice concerning Educational Visits from Sarah Atkins, CEO of Sarah Atkins & Co and accredited member of the national Outdoor Education Advisers Panel (OEAP) via phone, email or site visit.

Nationally accredited training courses for Educational Visit Co-ordinators in each school.

Nationally accredited Visit Leader training courses. This course has a practical module that can be delivered in the school’s local environment to develop staff confidence and skills with the aim of enhancing a school’s curriculum for Learning Outside the Classroom.

The eVisit web-based system for Educational Visit planning linked to OEAP National Guidance. This system will enable the school to run its own system for the planning and approval of Category A and B visits, whilst Category C visits can be scrutinised and signed off by Sarah Atkins.

The Visit Emergencies Support Network (VESN). This new offer comprises 6 experienced members of OEAP who provide support to schools in neighbouring counties in the Midlands. If a critical incident occurs and Sarah Atkins is not available to provide advice and support, then schools have access to contact any of the other VESN advisers. Access to the VESN enhances the capacity, expertise and resilience of schools.
